We've been here the whole time.

At the LAN parties with our cords. Chomping popcorn at premieres. Matching nails with our setups.

Glam gamer girls aren't anything new. But a news outlet built by us and for us? That's fresh & femme, and we're all for it.

Welcome to Charmed Geek — your home for gaming, geeky & pop culture, and glam, especially where all three collide.

Meet the maker: Charmaine Merriweather

Charmaine Merriweather (Charm. Me.) didn't stumble into geek culture — she was born into it.

Her dad is a Lord of the Rings stan and comic book collector. Her mom is a Star Trek devotee. Her uncle was building computers long before it was cool.

Some of her earliest memories include playing Tekken, Tomb Raider, and Batman Activity Center. By the age of seven, she was already fluent in the language of fandoms, lore, and the particular joy of finding your people through the things you love.

Her cozy gaming era began with Harvest Moon on GameCube at a middle school best friend's house and never really stopped. These days her world spans science fiction, animation/anime, pop culture, and an ever-growing personal library.

What she added to all of it was a journalist's instinct.

Charmaine holds a degree in journalism and carries 12 years of experience across print, broadcast, and digital news media — outlets where she covered everything from human interest stories to esports to arts and culture.

She knows how to find a story, how to tell it well, and how to make it matter to the person reading it.

Charmed Geek is where Charm's two worlds finally share a byline. It's the news outlet she always wanted to read — one that covers gaming, geek culture, and glam without asking women to leave any part of themselves at the door.
