Trainers, the day you have been waiting for has come. Fat Pikachu has reappeared – if but for a brief moment – to celebrate Pokémon's 30th anniversary.

The Pokémon franchise revealed the design on their X (Twitter) account, accompanied by the caption,

"It's been 30 years since the release of "Pokémon Red and Green."
Pokémon will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Friday, February 27, 2026.
This is going to be the best year ever!
Stay tuned!"

In the video it travels through 30 years of Pikachu designs, from our chubby buddy, to the Ozempic pal of today.

I'm personally hoping he stays on his body positivity train and remains cute and plump (but I doubt it).
