Unboxathon has all the charm of a pixel game and no pressure – none at all.

That's my main gripe with the game.

It's pretty simple: point and click to open the boxes. Then you can use whatever treasure you unbox to power up your pointer.

As a mobile game, this is wonderful. It's the perfect brain off activity you'd do while making your subway commute.

The issue is I demoed it from my computer. A thumb tap tap tap is all this game needs. Playing on desktop makes it feel too involved and like the payout isn't worth it.

Overall, I'd rate Unboxathon 2/5 stars. While I enjoyed the graphics, I found the gameplay lackluster and just not something I'd personally enjoy.

That being said, if you like passive, low involvement gameplay, I'd suggest downloading the indie game to your phone or tablet so you can enjoy popping the bubbles. I imagine someone's cat would enjoy swatting the bubbled boxes as the floated by.
